Volunteer Opportunities
If you would like to volunteer, check out:

  • Adopt-A-River 
    If you are interested in cleaning up your local river or stream and receive recognition for your stewardship, this program may be for you.
  • Hoosier Riverwatch Volunteer Stream Monitors
    Introduces citizens and educators to water quality monitoring utilizing hands-on habitat, chemical and biological assessment methods. Participants gain experience and skills in the use of chemical monitoring kits and aquatic insect collection and identification. The sessions are free and open to the public.
  • Stream Clean-up Kits are available through the St. Joseph River Watershed Initiative. Call 484-5848 x3 to reserve a kit.

  • The assembly of quarterly newsletters. Volunteers are needed in March, June, September and November. Please call 484-5848 x3 if you are interested in helping.
